ROSARIO MONETTI
Rosario Monetti was born in Naples, Italy, where he began studying music and opera singing. He initially studied with international tenor opera singer Marcello Ferraresi, then he continued his studies under the guide of soprano singer Sandra Lepore from the Conservatory of Music S. Pietro a Majella in Naples.
In 2000, his study continued in Cagliari under the supervision of the tenor pianist and music director of the Conservatory of Music, Giovanni de Palestrina. Later, in 2006, he perfected his singing technique with world-renowned soprano singer Katia Ricciarelli in Tuscany
He continued on to perform as a soloist and member of a musica antica acapella choir for several years all over Italy and Europe. As a singer, he performs a wide variety of music genres such as opera, jazz, swing, and many more. Along with singing, he is also an actor with IMDb credits in short feature films and reality shows.
Since 2009, he has been residing in San Diego, California, where he performs in most of the main venues and Italian festivals in Southern California.
As music producer of the San Diego Italian Film Festival, he supervises and takes care of all aspects related to the movies shown concerning the music and performers of the festival.
Furthermore, as music director of the Convivio Italian Heritage Association, he oversees and organizes the entire event and concert calendar throughout the whole year. In addition to his managerial duties, he also performs in the event, along with some of the most acclaimed musicians of the San Diego music scene and beyond.
